This weekend, the Blue Angels along with the Air Force’s Thunderbirds will fly over Washington, Baltimore and Atlanta. The joint effort, called “America Strong” is a series of flyovers across the country to salute those front line workers dealing with COVID-19.
The original painting “Showtime” measures 43″ x 63″ and was created in collaboration with the Blue Angels to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of this magnificent flight demonstration team. On September 10, 1996, on the tarmac in Pensacola, David Myers presented Captain Greg Wooldridge and the Blue Angel pilots with the first eight lithographs of the edition. This painting traveled the country with the Blue Angels and displayed at various air shows.
On April 24th, 1946 the Blue Angels formed to be the U.S. Navy’s flight demonstration team. Next year we will celebrate the 75th year of the Blue Angels inspiring millions nationwide.
