David Myers, BFA, MA

The Massillon, Ohio native earned a BFA in Painting from Miami University in 1982 and a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from California State Los Angeles in 1994. He also gained management and computer graphics experience while studying organizational behavior at Northwestern University.
David has had studios in Chicago, San Diego and Los Angeles. During that time, he gained valuable experience in coaching, mentorship and art therapy which set the foundation for over 40 years of experience in painting, photography and private art instruction.
Since opening the Gallery in Uptown Westerville in 2002, David has worked with over 800 artists. The gallery has hosted various exhibits and shows and participated in community events, including Uptown Westerville’s 4th Friday. David was an original founder and hosted the first meeting of The Arts Council of Westerville in 2003.
His art has been featured in The Pro Football Hall of Fame, The Tribune Tower in Chicago, Paramount Studios in Hollywood and in the Warner Bros. feature film “Dave”. Commissions include The Navy’s Blue Angels, The University of San Diego Hall of Fame, The Dial Ohio All-Star Classic and The Massillon Tiger Hall of Champions. David’s work has been featured on magazine and program covers, in Sports Illustrated and on ESPN’s SportsCenter.
David’s commitment to empowering others using art as a vehicle has evolved through his life’s experiences. Through many challenges, failures and accomplishments he was guided by great mentors. These experiences established his foundation for creating art and his approach to mentoring his artists.
